Early Heriz carpets from Northwest Persia are in a class of their own. Prized for their geometric designs, fine durable construction and creative use of vegetable-dyed colours, they make ideal long-lasting rugs, and have always stood out for their striking tribal motifs. In our experience, Heriz carpets prove to be among the most versatile decorative weavings, with the ability to unite both modern and traditional design elements in a room.

This particular piece, dating to the turn of the last Century, features a well-balanced graphic drawing is crafted in shades of denim blue and ochre, with rare earthy straw tones in the accents and the wide border, all set against a soft terracotta background. The palette has been rendered in all-natural vegetable dyed wool that has gracefully aged over time, adding to the overall charm of the piece.

Preserved in very good practical condition for everyday use, with its borders intact on all sides.

A characterful rug with a tribal naivety to suit a variety of settings.
