Fine antique Tabriz carpet – Associated with Master weaver, Hadji Jalili

  • Origin: Persia
  • Circa: 1900
  • Size: 5.50 x 3.90 metres / 18'1 x 12'9 feet
  • Ref: A25818

Early Tabriz carpets are recognised for their excellent fine weaves and remarkable adherence to the classical traditions of Persian rug design. This elegant example is associated with the highly respected and influential Master weaver, Hadji Jalili, who created the most sought-after pieces of his generation. This rug has a simple overall pattern instead of the traditional central medallion motif and a muted aubergine-grey colour field which nicely complements theĀ  drawing’s harmonious colour combination, framed by a wide generous border. In very good condition.
