Antique Talish rugs are one of the most individual pieces amongst the rugs from the Caucasus because of their simple drawings. This early rug with a rare plain light-blue field has colour variation known as ‘abrash’ which provides great depth and richness to the simplicity of the drawing, framed nicely by several borders. The artistic design in the yellow, ivory and terracotta borders has been cleverly repeated in a different colour combination, giving great contrast to the plain field. A one-of-a-kind. In good condition for its age, with some restoration.
