This gorgeous Somerset country house, with its origins in the 11th Century, made the perfect home for these two beautiful Tabriz carpets.

In the living room, the example we recommended has a soft, ivory ground, suiting the colour of the stone flooring, with accents of colour in the borders and the design which help to freshen up the room; despite being a 19th Century Tabriz carpet, its all-over design lends it a more modern feel that, while fitting for a country house, doesn’t clash with the more contemporary furniture.

Upstairs in the bedroom, the earthy tones of the Hadji Jalili Tabriz carpet, also from the tail end of the 19th Century, serve to compliment the aged patina of the antique oak and walnut furniture, and its more mellow palette is well suited to this warmer, more inimate space.
